Cherries: Frank excited by new 'adventure'

CHERRIES new boy Frank Demouge says the club’s Championship ambitions persuaded him to make a shock move to Dean Court.

Dutchman Demouge swapped the top flight in his homeland for League One when he penned a two-year contract to seal a free transfer from FC Utrecht.

The 29-year-old targetman has spent his entire career in the Dutch League after starting out with hometown club Nijmegen.

Demouge, who went on to feature for Tilburg and Willem ll, scored seven times in 20 appearances for FC Utrecht last term.

In an interview with Dutch football magazine Voetbal international, Demouge said: “This foreign adventure is exactly what I was looking for.

“I was looking for a new challenge and English football always interested me.

“I know Bournemouth want to gain promotion next season.”

Nijmegen-born Demouge also had spells with Eindhoven and Den Bosch before joining FC Utrecht from Willem II in 2010. He scored 11 times in 46 games for the Dutch Eredivisie club.
