MAN of the match Danny Hollands paved the way for Cherries’ latest triumph and then insisted: “This club is ready for the next level.”

Hollands, one of Cherries’ most consistent goalscoring midfielders of recent times, bagged the opener during their 3-0 win over Oldham on Saturday.

His sixth league goal – a header after 20 minutes – equalled his return from the past two seasons, even though he has endured a stop-start campaign.

Hindered by hernia surgery during pre-season, Hollands was then restricted to a bit part due to the impressive form of central midfield pair Anton Robinson and Marvin Bartley.

But since Bartley’s acrimonious departure to Burnley, Hollands has rediscovered his best and been an integral part of Cherries’ success under Lee Bradbury.

The 25-year-old told the Daily Echo: “It has been a tough five years for me since I have been here but I feel the club is as stable now as it has ever been.

“We’ve got a good manager, a good group of players and we are all a good age. I think we are ready to push on and there is no reason why we shouldn’t.

“Hopefully, we can have a strong end to the season. We are in the driving seat and have just got to keep giving it our best, like we have in the past couple of seasons.

“We were among the favourites to go down this season and a lot of people wrote us off. As a club and a team, we have continued to prove people wrong.

“As players, we have shown we can compete with the best teams in this league and will continue to do so.

“There is no better feeling in football than winning promotion. You could see what it meant to everybody last season and we want it again.”

Hollands notched his 28th career goal before efforts from Michael Symes and Lauri Dalla Valle made it 10 games unbeaten under Bradbury and Steve Fletcher.

Boss Bradbury said: “The difference between Danny and Marvin is that Danny scores goals and is a threat going forward. Marv was a combative midfielder, whereas, Danny can win you games or set you off on the right foot like he did against Oldham.”
