AMBITIOUS Sydenhams Wessex League outfit Ringwood Town have pulled off a major coup by signing striker Stuart Brown.

Boss Wayne Lockey has swooped for the powerful frontman following his exit from Poole Town where he had collected back-to-back Premier Division titles.

Brown enjoyed a number of fruitful spells with the Dolphins and has also played at a higher level with Salisbury City and Gosport Borough.

He also played professionally in South Africa and was instrumental in the rapid rise of Charlie Austin after partnering the Swindon Town sensation at Tatnam.

Brown has been drafted in by Lockey to help boost Ringwood’s firepower as they look to push for a return to the top flight of the Wessex League following a two-year absence.

Lockey, who has also brought in Dan Marks from New Milton, said: “Stuart is a class act and will give central defenders in this league nightmares.

“With all of last season’s squad signing and the addition of Stuart and Dan, we have a squad that should be there or thereabouts come April.”

Ringwood Town have also announced that main club sponsors Canotec have again agreed to support the club for the coming season.

The printing solutions specialists lend their name to Ringwood’s home ground at Long Lane and have been shirt sponsors for the past four years.
