Cherries: Walkers bid to raise vital funds

SEASON-ticket holder Tracey Mulholland is organising a sponsored walk to raise funds towards clearing Cherries’ debt mountain.

The Don’t Walk Alone fundraiser will see supporters and, potentially, ex-players walk from Boscombe Pier to Hengistbury Head on Sunday, April 18.

There is a registration fee of £2.50 to take part in the walk, but all other funds will go directly to the club.

Anyone interested in taking part in the walk should call Tracey on 07845 298074.

Alternatively, donations can be made via the club shop at Dean Court and should be addressed to Tracey Mulholland.

Good luck Tracey and to all those taking part, it's nice to see someone doing something rather than come her and moan about the board. I hope the sun shines for you all. as for the moaners, im sure they will all be there helping..lol

I'm pretty sure the 'moaners' are busy wondering why anyone would give up their own time to do a sponsored walk so the alleged millionaire owner doesn't have to take the money out of his OWN pocket so as to fund HIS loss making business HE bought into. On the upside, if she raises 4K it will pay Neil Blakes wages this month. Each to their own I guess lol

For a so-called North Stand regular, you don't seem to hold the club and its supporters in very high regard.

Good luck Tracey.

I for one will definitely be doing it along with my 18 month year old son.

Lets get behind this and raise the profile of the Company along with a lot of money!!

Probably be able to get on TV as well :)

It looks as if "The Dream Time" has arrived in Dorset!
Look at the debt.
Look at the potential return!
Suggest you start the walk just outside Dean Court and lead the people through the turnstyles.
Save all that energy and get the same (minimal) result!
Good luck!

What is your problem Laurie with someone trying to do something for there club?

I think that the problem is a lack of a realistic solution to a gigantic problem.
The return of a few thousand Quid to a huge debt is commendable but fairly innocuous.
The owner of the club is a millionaire, he wont put any cash in but is quite happy to employ his family on a weekly basis!
It seems that Tracey is going to work her tail off to pay HIS kids!
If I am missing something here please feel free to correct me!

Laurie, I understand your point of view and I would obviously prefer it if EM put more of his money in. However, it does not look like he is going to and so what choice have we got if we want to keep the club alive?

If I had the money I would happily buy the club, pay off the debt and buy back the ground but unless I win the Euro Millions it is not going to happen.

I the mean time I will do all I can and that includes this walk.

One of the main reasons he hasn't put in his own money is because he wants the club to be run and be successful on the revenue it creates, unlike the loons we had in before who spent non-existent money and left the club with a huge amount of debt, which has now been slowly cut down by half by the current board who are running the club within its means, so there is no need for him to put money into the club! Next time look at the facts before slating the board!

Get back to work Neil, sorry Nick, Eddie doesn't pay you all that dosh to sit on here all day otherwise we'll have to start asking the fans to do sponsored walks to pay your wages.....wait a minute! ha ha
Given you abuse anyone who doesnt agree with your point of view and accuse people of being other people you're the last person in a position to question the regard of supporters, it did make me laugh though. Maybe you cut EM's grass whilst he's doing the walk?

Wrong on ALL counts 'regular'.

You seem to be no stranger to abuse.
I just want to know what the motive is for the personal attacks.

So easy to sit behind a keyboard and user name and write unfounded comments.

It is also very easy to be negative and not proffer a solution.

Sorry but you're only filling the pockets of multi-millionaires.

The players aint daft they can see where the money would go if they halved their wages and they would still be on a good wack - If the board won't invest then why should anyone else give them money?

Then we shouldn't buy petrol, go shopping or have a bank account!

I think you're purposely missing the point!! Are you a goon for the board???

oh , and it costs min 14 quid to watch bournemouth. why should I pay the players taxes that have been stolen by the board illegally when I pay to watch the club? I´m not interested in paying taxes. I want to watch football and am willing to pay for that

I think that unless the Board, who have got money, subsidise the club it will surely be closed down at the Hearing on 31 March 2010. It is clear that HMRC will not accept this fiasco any longer. They lost out under the Administration and they will not be so flexible second time round. I would have thought that the Board would have heeded the warning bells following Chester City.

By the way good luck to Tracey and the fellow walkers. You are all a credit to the club.

Absolutely not!
In all businesses, it is the customers who ultimately pay.

if this club ever gets into profit ,it is not any supporter that will benefit financially it is the board members, all businesses are a calculated gamble ... money against the ability of the directors .so let it be Mitchells money that finances the gamble just as any profits will benefit his pocket - cant afford it ? dont be involved in it ,its not that difficult.
sponsored walk ! well that will raise pennies . as correctly pointed out elsewhere - its money through the turnstiles thats needed and it would appear that not many more than 5000 people really support this club on a regular basis and frankly thats not enough and right now we are headed toward the season of no income at dean court - i believe that little has really changed at the club ,ok theres been some housework done and its looking a bit nicer but people are not sufficiently interested to and stand in a football ground and watch middle of the road sport in the rain when weve mostly all got 42" TVs a fridge full of lager and our own comfy sofa. and thats where footballs income is going to these days.
sorry EM if you want the return on your investment then you do it with your money if youre confident you are on a winner it shouldnt be an issue ,and you know best
personally ,if you are not backing it all the way then neither will I because the message i am getting is that you are not confident ,despite your efforts - and youve done ok - its still not a good prospect and you know it otherwise you would be writing the cheque for the tax man

5000 "real fans" - lets say 1/2 that decide to join Tracey and raise £100 in sponsers. No fan will be giving money to the club and for a few hours of walking "obviously too much effort for some on here" donations would total around £250,000. So yes it is not going to help much with 1 or 2 doing it but the possibility is there IF moaners can be bothered to make a big diiference.

Good luck Tracey, and thank you for proactively doing something to help our club.

Me again, following my 1st post the moaners seem to be out in force, again good luck with the walk, and the moaners just crawl back under your rock. oh and if the club can clear the debt then surely we would get better players etc so the fans will gain plenty.

A COMMENT FROM FRANK - Frank2010, Poole says...
10:25am Thu 18 Mar 10

No wonder HMRC are not budging an inch. AFCB are obviously trading insolvent and Mr Mitchell has used revenue received to pay off other debts and employ members of his family.
Responding to All Seeing Eye, it is true that Keddie Developments went bankrupt. It is true that Mr Mitchell has been personally bankrupt and it is true that Yellow Three Developments went bankrupt which he was involved with.
He has obviously caught HMRC for a lot of money in the past and they don't trust him. Who can blame them?
COMMENT FROM ME -
You idiots giving money to a company that's bust must be crazy. Where will this money go? To employ another member of Mitchells family?

Talking of councils, I was at the KC Stadium in Hull last weekend. A 25,000 capacity stadium provided by Hull Council for the use of the community. I think you'll find that Sixfields Northampton was a similar venture.

Our lot would rather spend our money on surf reefs and Imax buildings.
