FORMER Wales World Cup ace Peter Rogers looks set to turn out for Oakmeadians again after helping to create two tries in their 53-17 home romp over High Wycombe.

Prop Rogers popped up twice in open play to have a major say as the Meyrick Parkers ran in touch downs through Brendon Daniel (two), Will Samuels (two), Jamie Tryska, Ryan Davies, Shaun Coughlan and Bunny Burenivalu.

Oaks coach James Croker, who saw Tryska add five conversions and one penalty, said: “Peter fitted in perfectly on his debut for us.

“He was a really positive influence on the team, bringing a bit extra to the party.”

Croker, whose unbeaten side are challenging strongly for the South West One East title, added: “We have a good squad who have big aspirations of themselves and nothing really fazes them.

“Peter really enjoyed himself and the lads really enjoyed having him on board.

“He has made himself available for Trowbridge away on Saturday, so he will be in the squad.”

Oakmeadians: Rogers, Henrickson, Dimmer, W Croker, Richards, Davies, Coughlan, Hokianga, Bell (Mitchell 60), Tryska, Korabai (Notobartolo 60), Samuels, Morgan (Ciriki 50), Burenivalu, Daniel.

SWANS chief Tom Dillon wants his side to find the “missing touch” after failing to hide his disappointment over their 16-16 draw at Olney.

His struggling team had battled back defiantly after falling behind three times to take a 16-11 lead in the South West One East clash.

But all their good work went to waste when Olney scored a late try to level as they punished 14-man Swans after replacement prop Ricky Woodard had been yellow carded with 13 minutes to go.

Dillon, whose side scored through Robert Elford (try) and Phil Graves (three penalties, one conversion), said: “The referee felt Ricky had his hands on the ball while on the ground.

“She felt he wasn’t releasing the ball and to be honest she’d had enough of it. She’d been warning us and warning Olney, so we can’t have any complaints with the sin-binning.”

Dillon, whose side have yet to win in three matches this term, added: “There is something missing, just the finishing touches to make sure we win games.

“I’m looking for more mental toughness from the players.”

Swanage and Wareham: Wilcox, Parish, Cottrell, D Elford, Blackmore, Brett, P Graves, Sheldrake, R Elford, Andrews (R Woodard 60), Burgess, Corsie, Warren (Tomes 65), Van Toyl, Wright (Large 68).

SCRUM-half Ross Whale ran in four tries – one a superb solo effort – as Ellingham and Ringwood battered Fordingbridge 49-9 at home to go top of London Three South West.

Chris Hancock and Josh Beavis also touched down and Rich Major added five conversions and three penalties as the Es comfortably overturned a 6-0 deficit.

Es coach Steve Anderson said: “It was a great team performance.”

Verwood lost 24-12 at home to Lytchett Minster in Hampshire Two despite scoring through Joe Walsgrove and Tom McGuffie (tries) and Paul McGuffie (conversion).

North Dorset under-16s beat their Wimborne counterparts 31-26 and North Dorset’s under-18 girls’ side defeated Dorset rivals Oakmeadians 32-5.
