CHERRIES: ED AND JASON AGREE NEW DEALS

CHERRIES managerial duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall have agreed terms on new contracts.

The inspirational pair, who led Cherries to a dramatic relegation escape last season, are expected to officially put pen to paper on fresh three-year deals later this week.

The duo, alongside new chairman Eddie Mitchell, revealed the news at an impromptu Dean Court press conference this afternoon.

Asked if he had been impressed by his early dealings with Howe, Mitchell said: "Very much so, otherwise I don’t think we’d be offering a three-year contract.

"We admire Eddie’s determination and his enthusiasm and he speaks well and has a high regard for the club and community."

Cherries begin their pre-season campaign against Poole Town at Tatnam this evening.

See tomorrow’s Daily Echo for the full report and reaction.

Good news that states that the board are going to bring much needed stability to this club. In seeing sense that eddie howe has done creditable job in the short time in the managers hot seat and that he has the backing of his playing staff and that he has a small but solid base to build from. we need to be patient with eddie as there maybe some highs and lows but i for one have the utmost respect and belief in eddie and the confidence he has in his ability and the confidence he has given us all. Up the cheeries

Daydreamers! What use is a 3 year contract if the club is going to fold up within 9 months due to bad debts.

There will be plenty of people ####ing their pants at this news but don't lets get carried away. There are many miles yet to travel before success can come.
Mid table this season. Play-offs next season. If we don't make it, promotion the following season. Hopefully, along the way, we can draw a big club in the third round and do what Exeter did.

An extract from Monday's comments:

'It looks like we have got another power hungry looser running Bournemouth football club. I Would rather see the club in the blue square being run by a group of fans because we are going nowhere with these losers'

Today's great news illustrates that some people who post on this board have not got a clue - but I suppose they get people like me going

So far the owners have, in their first full week:
*started to discuss the situation with the tax man
*pay wages
*re assure staff and communicate with them
* indicated that they will not flash cash they have not got
*appointed a very good choice of captain
* be open with supporters and not overpromise
*AND TODAY...agreed a contract for our talented management team that will lead us to successful season

I think this is decent weeks work - see you at Gigg Lane - please join me - the club deserves our support from day one!

Agree. We have 9 players in the squad with not a lot of football league experience between them..mid table will be a decent season.
