CHERRIES co-owner Paul Baker may be forced to seek a new buyer for his share in the club after Adam Murry's consortium failed to meet a completion deadline.

Murry reached an agreement with Baker - in principle - for his 50 per cent stake in the club at the end of December and was given until the end of January to conclude the deal.

But after Murry's group were unable to meet the terms of the agreement, Baker has decided to go back to the drawing board.

Baker confirmed to the Daily Echo tonight: "I had agreed to sell my 50 per cent to Adam Murry's consortium. The club needs money to take it through until the end of the season and it looks like they have fallen short.

"I thought I was making the right decision for the future benefit of the football club, but it hasn't worked out that way.

"All I am concerned with is securing the future of this football club."

Murry is adament he will continue to seek new investors and told the Daily Echo the deal was not dead.

Meanwhile, Cherries have this afternoon received clearance from the Football League to register new signings Anton Robinson and Liam Feeney.
