THE Baseby brothers Mark and Aaron will line up for Bournemouth Buccaneers this year after putting pen to paper for the newly-formed National League team last night.

Mark, who will be 21 next month, began 2008 in the second tier with Mildenhall before a back injury sidelined him until October.

But he completed a successful comeback before the end of the campaign with Sittingbourne in the old Conference League alongside younger sibling Aaron.

Eighteen-year-old Aaron has been riding regularly for the Crusaders since 2007.

The Sevenoaks-based brothers join Jay Herne, Jerran Hart and Kyle Newman in the Buccaneers’ line-up, with one more heat leader, another reserve and a number eight yet to be signed.

Bournemouth manager Garry May said: “I’m delighted Mark and Aaron have agreed terms.

“I’ve been watching them both for some time now and believe they will prove to be key members of our squad.

“Aaron was a regular with Sittingbourne in the Conference last season and went on to win the Sussex Junior Championship at Eastbourne, which shows just how much he has to offer.

“Mark made a fine comeback late in the season and is really looking forward to riding for us.”

May added: “Mark has been training hard and I have no qualms about his fitness.

“In fact, I think he’ll be in a Premier League team before the end of the season once he starts scoring points for Bournemouth.

“Aaron is just coming on nicely and hopefully he will improve again with us.

“They both like the big club set-up at Poole and are looking forward to coming here and riding for Bournemouth.

“The Buccaneers team is shaping up nicely and with the heat leader and reserve we’re looking to bring in, we should be up there challenging for the title.”
