JO Kuffour is refusing to rule out the possibility of a dramatic Cherries swansong as speculation continues to mount regarding his immediate future.
Kuffour was understood to be on the verge of joining League One outfit Bristol Rovers after the two clubs had agreed a fee for the striker.
And it was originally thought the Londoner had yesterday headed to the West Country to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms.
But sources close to the Daily Echo suggest the deal could yet be hijacked at the 11th hour, with Kuffour apparently being pursued by another unnamed club.
And although he was expected to have completed his move to Rovers yesterday, no transfer documentation had been signed by close of business last night.
It seemed Kuffour had played his last game for Cherries at Aldershot earlier this month as it emerged after the match that he had asked for a transfer.
However, in an interview with the Daily Echo last night, the 26-year-old hinted he could still play a part during Cherries' trip to Port Vale on Saturday.
Asked if he thought there was a chance he could feature, Kuffour replied: "Possibly. If things don't get sorted out, I'm still contracted to Bournemouth so I'm sure I would play if I were picked.
"I'm fit and I'm over the virus that kept me out of the game last week and I've been training with the lads this week.
"I'm the type of person that, whoever I'm playing for, I would always give 100 per cent. If I haven't gone anywhere and I don't go anywhere, I will still put in 100 per cent for Bournemouth."
Kuffour, who was first linked with a move to Bristol Rovers by the Daily Echo in May, is also believed to be a target for Colchester, although another club is now understood to have entered the equation.
Asked for his reasons for requesting a transfer, Kuffour said: "When I knew there was interest from teams higher up, it made me take note. I want to play as high as I can and for as long as I can. That's the main reason for it really."
And asked whether he feared a bad reception from Cherries fans if he were to line up at Vale Park, he said: "I would understand it because that's something footballers have to put up with. I won't be the first (player to request a transfer) and definitely won't be the last.
"The Bournemouth fans have always been good to me and I hope nothing will jeopardise that if I stay."
Meanwhile, Cherries have completed the signing of goalkeeper Shwan Jalal on a permanent transfer from Peterborough.
The 25-year-old has impressed since arriving at Dean Court on a month's loan towards the end of Cherries' pre-season campaign.
Chief executive Alastair Saverimutto successfully concluded negotiations with Posh director of football Barry Fry to convert the deal to a full transfer.
Jalal has agreed terms on a two-year contract with a further 12-month appearance-related option. Peterborough stand to receive payments based on appearances and other incentives, although the finer details of the package are not known.

These sources close to the Echo have they got any information regarding the Swindon striker deal?

Savimuttu made a bit of a rash statement that with his regime anyone who didnt deliver woulkd soon be found out so we will see if he means it in a result based industry. That could be a competition to make a bit of Money WHERE IS THE DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL .
Why does the Echo feel the need to 'big up' Savi? the last two stories both having the same sycophantic 'Chief executive Alastair Saverimutto successfully concluded blah, blah, blah... is this because many are asking questions about his lack of delivery? come on echo, you can do better than being a mouthpiece for the board can't you? and finally, where is the Director of Football in all this, surely that would make an interesting story or would that involve upsetting the apple cart.

Let Jo go for 50p as far as I am concerned. He's not fit to wear the shirt. He signed a good contract which he now wants to pull out of. Let's wait for the Gowling-esque comments to follow from him when he does eventually leave.

Interesting article from Bournemouth Buzz today, again doing the Echo's work for it, confirming that two offers have been made to Sports-6, for the Club - one expiring at midnight tomorrow, both refused! They seem to not have the money to invest in the Club but cling to it - why?
