CHERRIES star Warren Cummings has reaffirmed his "100 per cent commitment" to the club after coming off the transfer list.

Cummings appeared to be heading out of Dean Court after being forced to take a pay cut following Cherries' relegation last season.

His existing two-year contract - signed last summer - included provision for him to take a 20 per cent drop in wages if Cherries were to go down.

And he asked for a move last month after he felt it had been "morally wrong" to trigger the clause as relegation would have been avoided but for the 10-point deduction for entering administration.

Cummings, who has missed Cherries' past two friendlies due to illness, confirmed his written transfer request had been withdrawn by "mutual agreement".

And he told the Daily Echo last night: "I still feel as though I was in the right to go on the transfer list and that won't change because it was a matter of principle.

"But for the benefit of the team, the manager and myself, I felt it would be better if we were all channelling our efforts into the start of the new season now.

"My father (Cummings's agent) has been pretty forthright with the manager regarding how I feel I've been treated by the club and the manager has been different class.

"He has my 100 per cent commitment and that would have been the case even if I had stayed on the transfer list."

Cummings was again confined to his sick bed as Cherries completed their pre-season campaign with a 4-0 victory over Eastleigh on Saturday.

"I've been pretty rough for the past few days," added the popular Scotsman. "I had an infection and tonsillitis."

Cummings's removal from the transfer list has placed a question mark over the possibility of former England star Chris Powell joining Cherries.

Bond, who told the Echo that he was "pleased" Cummings had come off the transfer list, added: "Warren's situation possibly has an influence on Chris's and whether him coming off the list means I don't resurrect an interest in Chris remains to be seen."
