PIRATES' scheduled home league clash against Ipswich tonight was called off at 7.45am today because of a waterlogged track, one of the earliest postponements in the history of the club.
Poole Castle Cover chief Matt Ford said: "We made an early decision after one month's rain fell on the track overnight and the met officie had told us it was going to rain heavily for the rest of the day as well.
"I phoned Ipswich promoter John Louis as soon as I got that report and he was fully in agreement with the early cancellation because the Poole track is completely waterlogged and there is no chance of getting the meeting on."
Ford confirmed no re-staging date had been set.
