EX-CHERRIES forward Dave Town looks set to leave Bashley this summer after manager Steve Riley admitted he was keen to "freshen things up".
The talented former professional, who is rumoured to be attracting interest from Wessex League sides Brockenhurst and Poole Town, seems unlikely to extend his stay at the Recreation Ground.
After signing from Bognor Regis in October, Town scored three league goals as Bashley made a run to the Southern League Premier Division play-offs.
But having brought in striker Nic Eastham from Salisbury and retained the services of Richard Gillespie and Jeremy Tarr, Riley has put a large question mark over Town's future.
"I like Dave but he probably realises we want to freshen things up a bit," Riley told the Echo.
"We're looking to bring in some other players. I think he's talking to one or two other clubs so I've left it open really.
"He's one of those players who can produce a spark. But I just think it's unfortunate that he's probably not as fit as he'd want to be and didn't, by his standards, score enough goals.
"He's a great player to have in the dressing room and you can't fault his ability.
"He'd be a good addition to any squad and I thank him for his efforts."
Riley added: "It's not dead and buried. If he doesn't sign for another club I may well speak to him and see what we can do."
Bash, who begin pre-season next week, have hung on to the likes of David Elm, Danny Smith, Chris Knowles and Chris Ferrett.
They have also recruited Eastham and fellow prospect Joe Fisher, while Riley is expected to announce the capture of a midfielder next week.
