BJARNE Pedersen admits he doesn't know how many points he's adrift of a Grand Prix re-qualification place ahead of tonight's Danish round.
Pirates' captain missed the previous two meetings in Leszno and Stockholm after breaking his wrist at Coventry in early May.
While absent from World Championship duty, Pedersen slipped 24 points adrift of a coveted top eight spot.
But it's not a fact he's dwelling on as he heads for Copenhagen tonight (6pm).
Pedersen, currently lying 15th with four points gleaned from the opening round at Krsko, said: "I haven't even looked at how many points I'm behind the top eight.
"It's tough. To be honest I haven't thought about it for any time. I know I have lost two GPs. I know if you do that you need eight good GPs now.
"The chance is still there. I feel the door is still open. I just need to do eight good GPs.
"That is what I will try to do and see what the result is.
"I just want to do that. I can't do any more than that."
Pedersen added: "I have a lot of work to do, but to be fair, I can't do anything about the lost points.
"I watched the European GP on TV but I didn't watch the Swedish one because I was out with friends that night.
"There was nothing I could do, even if I had watched.
"I'm just looking forward to going to the Danish GP and hopefully putting on a good show there and making a few good starts.
"To be honest, I'm just happy to get the chance to ride in Copenhagen.
"I just want to go into the Parken Stadium and do the perfect job and try to pick up some points.
"I'll just approach it the same way I would any GP. I have the same people around me as I did at the start of the season and we'll try our best to start climbing up the standings."
Pedersen's Poole Castle Cover team-mate Chris Holder, meanwhile, is aiming to reach the World Under-21 Championship final on Sunday.
Holder is the favourite to win the first semi-final at Rye House (2pm) where he comes up against Swindon's Troy Batchelor and young Brits' Tai Woffinden and Lewis Bridger.
The Poole man is the red hot favourite to lift the overall junior title this year and it would be a major surprise if he didn't get on the podium at Hoddesdon.
