MAGNUS Zetterstrom says he is determined not to suffer another pointless' nightmare meeting for Pirates.
The charismatic Swede, a cult hero among Poole Castle Cover fans, suffered the ignominy of four ducks at Lakeside in their last match.
It was the first time in 139 appearances in Britain the former Somerset rider had not got on the scoresheet.
In fact, it was only the third time in his 176 performances for the Dorset club that Zetterstrom had failed to get off the mark in four outings And the first of those can almost be excused because it came on his home comeback from a broken back injury sustained in a horror spill at Exeter early in his Pirates debut campaign of 1996.
Zetterstrom, who lines up for Poole at home to Peterborough in the Elite League tonight (7.30pm), said: " Lakeside was not the best night I have had this season, or for a long time.
"I don't even know when I last scored zero.
"There will be some places like that where home track advantage is very good for their riders and we will be struggling.
"I don't know what to say apart from it was just one of those nights when I couldn't get dialled into a track where I hadn't been since 2004."
Zetterstrom, whose previous British four-ride duck was for Pirates at Swindon on October 7, 2004, added: "I hope it won't happen again.
"I'll be doing everything I can to make sure it doesn't because you don't want to score zero.
"It's just a shame it happened when I dropped to number seven. Maybe I thought it was going to be easier.
"Maybe I took it too easy, but I won't make that mistake again if that was the case."
Zetterstrom sold all his British equipment after being released by Somerset, so is still riding on bikes and engines he's not used to following his surprise Poole call-up in place of Karol Zabik last month.
The Swede said: "W&S Recycling are helping me but I'm still looking for some more help because I came back here with nothing.
"I don't want to make any promises because even if the league has dropped averages wise there will still be riders who can beat each other.
"I just need to get a good start in my first ride against Peterborough and then, hopefully, things will work out for me."
Bjarne Pedersen returns from injury for Pirates as they aim to bounce back from their 53-39 defeat at Lakeside.
Pedersen lines up at three, with Chris Holder, who now tops their averages following Krzysztof Kasprzak's departure, moving to one.
Peterborough, crushed 57-35 at the Showground on May 8, use rider replacement for injured Kenneth Bjerre.
Pirates: (new averages in brackets) 1 Chris Holder (8.14), 2 Freddie Eriksson (6.40), 3 Bjarne Pedersen (7.86), 4 Adam Skornicki (6.92), 5 Davey Watt (7.86), 6 Magnus Zetterstrom (5.18), 7 Daniel Davidsson (3.38).
Peterborough: 1 Hans Andersen (9.38), 2 Henning Bager (4.07), 3 Rider replacement for Kenneth Bjerre (7.45), 4 Claus Vissing (5.00), 5 Danny King (6.00), 6 Morten Risager (3.50), 7 Ty Proctor (3.00).
