KEVIN Bond has this morning confirmed the release of Cherries stars Gareth Stewart, Steven Foley and Jo Tessem.

Russell Perrett and Neil Young, meanwhile, have confirmed their retirements from the professional game.

Bond told the Echo this lunchtime: "I'd like to give a big thank you to them all. They all played their part this season."

Bond is now in talks with the remaining out-of-contract senior players with a view to prolonging their Dean Court careers.

...no surprises there then!...hopefully Kevin can work some magic and get everyone else to stay on..he may have some problems keeping Sam,Danny and Josh though...here's hoping that he can hold on to them for another season at least.

I'll be sad to see Stewart and Young go.

Neil was a hero of the club and I wish him well in retirement.

I suppose Stewart's leaving was inevitable after Bond tried to release him a couple of weeks before the season started. Add to that he never found favour with Bond and it's a done deal.

As for Perrett, well he was an injury prone player when he was signed and who was injured almost all season. Risky signing that backfired on us - end of an error really.

Russ Perrett - I thought he had retired a year ago!!!

In all seriousness, can't fault KB on any of these decisions. If he keeps this up, I may even end up being a fan (there's a way to ge yet though Kevin).

The trickiest bit will, of course, be encouraging the others to stay. Perhaps he can get Mandaric to release Gradel to us as his last decision before walking away from Leicester (said firmly tounge in cheek).

Mandaric will not let Maxi come back here. Manadaric may even be tempted to get his friend bond to go there?

None of these are a surprise. I'm sorry Foley never made it back (no pun intended!) to fitness. I rated him alongside O'Connor before he was injured and would really have liked to see him back in the team next season.

Good luck Gareth, My 9 year old son will be upset you are leaving.
Is the big man on his way back?

Well "A Surprise" if Milan Manadaric comes in for Kev then we should not stand in his way. Leicester would be a tremendous opportunity for a young up and coming manager with his skills.

Bond said they all played their part this Season What exactly to Foley do ? but seriously its a pity Foley when fit was very good . Isnt it interesting though when Players were taking pay cuts and Telfer said he wasnt good enough and wrote off his contract that Perrett waited until his contract run out to announce his retirement screwed the Club for the last penny just shows what kind of a Man he is . Yes ok he is entitled to it but you cant tell be he hasnt made a few bob in his career But looking on the bright side Bond seems to be true to his word and hast learnt his lesson get rid of the Chaff now and prepare for next Year. I hear Perrett is writing a book The Players guide to Football League treatment rooms Bye Bye Perrett a true Bournemouth Legend The only Player to have survived rigor mortis and finished the season. No more mercenary injury prone journeymen please Mr Bond

On a more serious note Thank you Garath for your time here you were not the best Goalkeeper we have had but you did a job for us. As for Young Legend enough said, Foley I hope you can pick it up somewhere else it will be a shame if you dont. Dont know why they signed Tessem in the first place Perrett a very bad signing.

Thanks to gareth as well. Always available at times of crisis. Hope he finds another club. Perrett on the rare occasion he was fit, showed why KB bought him. Just a shame he was so injury prone but who could have predicted his breathing problems. Not the kind of illness footballers get

Your right not a footballing injury but the other injurys that kept him out all season bar a little while where old injurys that he had at Luton I know I lot of Luton supporters and they said we would be lucky to get 10 games out of him and that was the day after he signed . He may well be a good Player but everybody it would appear knew how injury prone he was so it was rather foolish signing him for a Team that was financially unstable dont you think. But a fair point a lot of us predicted he would soon get injured but not about his breathing perhaps it was the shock of having to play 2 games in a row !!! anyway hes gone now so apart from the cost it doesnt matter

kuffour will still be there. He signed on a 2 year deal last June

Whichever way you look at this we have all thought they were surplus to requirements, thanks to Gaz Stewart for all he has done but the writing was on the wall a year ago, as for the rest no surprises at all, perhaps we can get some players in who will play now that I would like to see.

jquain, Ringwood says...

I agree with everyone else, no surprises at all. Gareth wasnt good enough, Foley is long term injured, Tessem was only really cover anyways, Perret was injured and Young has already stated he was retiring.

I would like to thank all the above players for their service to the club, especially Younger who has been a rock for us over the past few years.

All the best to Gareth for the future , he was a good servant to the club , What chance of getting David Forde on a permanent deal along with Mossy would give us two excellent keepers

Sam will go to Pompey but get loaned back to us for a season, there is no way he will go to Newcastle.

As for the rest I don't know but I hope we keep hold of the majority of our team.

I use to work with his grandparents and what I got told was that he wont go to Newcastle because it's just way too far for his parents etc.

They didn't say anything about Pompey just a big hint, but I am pretty sure Harry will snap him up and give him back to us for a season to learn his stuff. He also has a good agent now that use to be a striker and pretty sure he played for Pompey so all adds up really and she said "He knows what will be right for him"

So lets all hope hey and hope he is in a cherries shirt next season.
