PIRATES chief Matt Ford has voiced his concern that Karol Zabik is not fit to line up in a Grand Prix qualifying meeting in Poland tonight.
Zabik, who aggravated a wrist injury in a fall at Poole on Wednesday, is expected to take part in a re-arranged Polish semi-final GP qualifier at Torun.
The final is at Zielona Gora tomorrow.
With Zabik expected to reach that stage if he doesn't make his injury any worse, the Dorset club will use rider replacement for him at home to Coventry tomorrow.
Poole Castle Cover have already drafted in Swindon's Mads Korneliussen as a guest for Adam Skornicki, who has suffered complications to his broken wrist.
Ford said: "We have no Zabik on Wednesday. He is riding at Torun tonight and the Polish GP qualifying final is tomorrow.
"I fear Karol is not fit to ride in either of those meetings anyway, but as with all riders they seem to take a chance with their fitness in individual events.
"He will line up even though I don't necessarily feel he will be fit to ride.
"I don't know the ins and outs of Karol's injury, but it doesn't seem as though anything is broken.
"They ride through the pain barrier when it comes to these individual events, although team events get tossed to one side."
Skornicki, who broke his wrist in a fall at Swindon on March 27, had been expected to return against Coventry tomorrow, but has had to delay his comeback.
Ford said: "Adam phoned me late on Sunday and said there is an infection in his wrist where it is healing and the doctor suggested he didn't ride on Wednesday.
"He didn't do a practice, it's just his wrist hasn't healed properly so he won't be here.
"Adam will make a decision about whether he can return for our meeting at Coventry on Friday sometime on Wednesday or Thursday.
"Zibi Suchecki fell and withdrew from in his meeting in Poland on Sunday, but I haven't heard from him that he isn't riding for us, so he should be back tomorrow."
Coventry have a major doubt over Rory Schlein, who also fell heavily in Poland over the weekend.
They would have to use rider replacement to cover for his absence if he is declared unfit.
