FORMER England full-back Danny Mills said Jordon Ibe needed to “sort himself out” and added: “His career has gone backwards.”

The ex-Leeds star, who now works in punditry, was speaking after Cherries boss Eddie Howe said Ibe would not be offered a new deal at Dean Court this summer.

Londoner Ibe signed for Cherries from Liverpool in 2016 for a then club record £15million.

But he is now set to leave the Dorset outfit on a free transfer.

Speaking about the 24-year-old to Football Insider, Mills said: “His career has gone backwards.

“Why has a player of that quality and that value not been able to get into the Bournemouth side? You wonder if it is his attitude or perhaps he is just not good enough.

“He needs to sort himself out. He needs to be playing regular football as quick as possible.

“A player that is still young with a lot of quality but he has a point to prove.

“Young players often get too much too soon, think they have made it and they do not keeping pushing.

“They think they have hit the big time but very quickly it can be snatched away from you.”
