CHERRIES are not in discussions with Liverpool over the sale of Ryan Fraser, the Daily Echo understands.

National radio station talkSPORT this afternoon claimed the Reds were in "advanced talks" with Cherries over purchasing the Scot during the upcoming January transfer window.

But the Echo understands there to be no truth in the rumours.

Fraser's contract with Cherries is due to expire at the end of the 2019-20 season, but the club are not looking to sell the winger.

The report also stated Cherries were "interested" in a swap deal involving Fraser and Harry Wilson, who is currently on loan at the Dorset club from Liverpool.

Fraser attracted reported attention from a host of clubs in the summer, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur after a stellar campaign which saw him notch 14 Premier League assists and score seven goals in the top flight.

But the 25-year-old has failed to replicate that form so far this term, scoring just once, but he did register a second assist of the campaign during Saturday's 2-1 loss at Newcastle.
