BRADY Kurtz reckons an improved atmosphere in the pits can help Pirates roar to SGB Premiership glory.

The Wimborne Road club are assured of play-off speedway for the ninth season in a row, regardless of the result of tomorrow’s home clash with Wolverhampton (7.30pm).

Pirates’ campaign has been invigorated by a number of mid-season signings, with many crediting fans’ favourite Chris Harris as a key element of the resurgence.

Kurtz told the Daily Echo: “All of the boys have been saying how much better the atmosphere has been in the pits in the past few weeks.

“We are all enjoying being here and we have such a good bunch of guys at the moment.

“I can’t see why we can’t go all the way.

“I’ve never won a league before – I don’t think I’ve even been in a final.

“Every year I sign for the team which looks the best and then we always go the worst. It’s nice to be running near the front and I’m looking forward to seeing how it finishes.

“I’ve never seen any league like this before. You can’t say anything about who is going to make the final.

“I think it’s good for speedway.”
