CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe wished Michael Keane a speedy recovery after the Everton defender clashed heads with team-mate Idrissa Gueye.

England star Keane was stretchered off in the closing minutes of Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Vitality Stadium having sustained a small hairline fracture of the skull.

He spent the night in Poole Hospital before being released this morning, with his return expected to be three to four weeks away.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “I wish him well on behalf of everyone at Bournemouth.

“I don’t like to see any player go off with that type of injury. It looked a really bad clash so our thoughts are with him.”

Callum Wilson and Steve Cook posted messages of support for the centre-half on Twitter.

Keane told the Everton website: “I want to say a huge thank you to the medical staff at Everton and Bournemouth as well as those at Poole Hospital for their excellent treatment and care.”

The 25-year-old suffered concussion while playing for previous club Burnley two and a half years ago.
