A CENTURY stand between Ciaran Quinn and John Fairless paved the way for Poole Town to keep the heat on the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League leaders with a crushing 115-run win over Stalbridge.

Quinn (56) and Fairless (47) shared 125 for the first wicket at Park Road as Poole Town took maximum spoils from the victory and trimmed to 15 points Wimborne & Colehill’s advantage at the summit.

Tom Robinson (41) and Lewis Marais (27) added to Poole Town’s solid start as they piled up 252 for seven, a total which always looked beyond struggling Stalbridge.

And so it proved as Joe Wilson and Joe Wormington both claimed three wickets – with Wilson’s haul including the prize scalp of Stalbridge opener Stuart Sweatman (52).

Only three other batsmen reached double figures as Wormington (3-13) and Wilson (3-19) helped roll over Stalbridge for 137 with Robinson, James Kirk, Andy Groome and Dameth Gunawardena taking a wicket apiece.
