GOAL hero Callum Wilson said he was delighted to open his account against Cardiff after being "disappointed" with his tally last season.

Wilson scored in second-half stoppage-time to secure the win over the Bluebirds on Saturday.

The 26-year-old scored just eight league goals last season and admitted he had a figure in mind to hit this campaign.

He told the Daily Echo: "I have targets and I also want to score as many goals as possible.

"I never reveal my targets. I keep them close to my chest and they are always personal.

"As a striker, you always want to get into double figures and even 10 would not have been good enough for me.

"I set my standards high and was disappointed to not hit double figures last season.

"I worked hard over the summer, came back in good shape, had a strong pre-season and I'm off to a goalscoring start, so long may that continue."

Wilson served as the creator for Cherries' opener by cutting the ball back for Ryan Fraser to dispatch into the net.

The former Coventry man was denied from the penalty spot by Neil Etheridge after he had been fouled in the box by Bruno Ecuele Manga.

"I was disappointed to miss it," added Wilson. "I put it in the corner, I could have put it high or put a bit more disguise on it, but it is one of those things. "You have to show great mental strength and a good attitude to put it right.

"It took to the 91st minute to do so but, thankfully, I repaid the players, first and foremost, and the fans as well.

"We knew it was going to be a difficult game but if we had good movement, we knew we were going to have space.

"We had a lot of time at the back and, in the first 20 minutes, didn't take control.

"Once we got the hang of how we could impact the game in an attacking sense, we started to show that and got the opening goal."
