TYRONE Mings believes Cherries could not be better prepared for the Premier League campaign.

Cherries rounded off their pre-season warm-up clashes against Real Betis and Marseille having already taken on Sevilla, Levante, Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Amiens.

Eddie Howe’s men trained both home and abroad – at La Manga Club in Spain – in preparation for their league opener against Cardiff City.

Discussing his team’s pre-season opposition, defender Mings told the Daily Echo: “It’s been a really good test. Sometimes you can coast through pre-season games and I think that’s dangerous because you can go into the season not quite at it mentally.

“Even if you have played 90 minutes a few times, if you haven’t been tested physically, mentally and tactically, you are quite exposed when you go into the first game of the season.

“We have played some really good games which have provided different tests, so we have covered all bases.”

Boss Howe added: “I’ve been really pleased with the players’ attitudes and commitment to everything in pre-season.

“They have been worked really hard in what has probably been the toughest pre-season I’ve delivered.

“I’m very confident that come kick-off, the players will be ready for a really tough Premier League season.”
