DORSET were on the receiving end of a heavy beating as Shropshire's Warrick Fynn weaved his magic to send them spinning to a 162-run defeat at Chapel Gate today.

The all-rounder, who top scored in both innings for Shropshire with 66 and 61, also claimed impressive match figures of 11 for 118 in the Unicorns Championship clash.

Having resumed their second innings on 34 for one and in pursuit of 330 for victory, Dorset lost Luke Webb in the morning session when he became slow left-armer Fynn's first victim of the day.

Bournemouth's Webb (30) shared 57 for the second wicket with Somerset Academy youngster Ben Wells before he was caught by Gurjit Sandhu.

Wells (31) quickly followed suit – bowled by Fynn – before Ed Ellis went first ball, caught by Will Parton off the bowling of Fynn as Dorset slumped from 64 for one to 67 for four.

Fynn continued his one-man demolition job by castling Josh McCoy before Alex Eckland and Chris Park put on 57 for the sixth wicket as Dorset staged a brief recovery.

However, it was short lived as Fynn had Eckland (54) snaffled by Sandhu and Park was bowled by Alex Wyatt to leave them reeling on 156 for seven.

Fynn (7-60) also accounted for Mark Wolstenholme and Jon Legg while Wyatt (3-8) picked up the wicket of Jigar Naik.
