CHRIS Harris has been handed a recall to the Great Britain side for Saturday’s Test match against Australia.

Team GB bosses will hope Harris’s home track knowledge around Glasgow’s Ashfield circuit will give the hosts an edge.

The 35-year-old, who signed for Pirates earlier this month, has been in fine form in the SGB Premiership and Championship.

He told the Glasgow website: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be representing my country again and even better that it’s at my home track in Glasgow.

“I cannot wait for Saturday and will give it everything.”

Harris joins two-time world champion Tai Woffinden and Glasgow team-mate Craig Cook in the side, as well as former Tigers charger Dan Bewley.

Cook, who impressed at the recent British Grand Prix, said: “It should be a fantastic meeting. “The line-ups are very competitive and the track should provide fantastic racing.”

Truro-born Harris admitted after his home debut for Pirates against Leicester that he had weeks earlier come close to quitting the shale sport.

He had been without a club following the closure of Rye House but Linus Sundstrom’s decision to step aside allowed Poole chief Matt Ford to bring Harris in.
