EARLY starter Georgia Hall put herself in contention after carding an excellent second round in the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open.
The Wimborne-based 22-year-old added a three-under-par 68 to her opening level-par 71, leaving her within touching distance of the leaders at Gullane.
Hall, who was in the second group out at 7am, made a fast start when she picked up birdies at the first and third, taking her into red figures.
And although she dropped a shot at the fifth – the shortest par-four on the course at 325 yards – she reached the turn in 33 after collecting another birdie at the ninth.
The highlight of Hall's round came at the 480-yard 11th where a fine drive, approach shot and putt saw her pick up an eagle to move to four-under.
A run of four successive pars followed before a rare blemish on a par-five saw her bogey the 528-yard 16th to drop back to three-under.
She closed with solid pars on the 17th and 18th and will be looking to mount a challenge, starting with moving day tomorrow.
