CHERRIES have confirmed midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has linked up with the first-team squad for the remainder of their Spanish training camp.

The 18-year-old had been part of the under-21s’ five-day training programme at Real Club Campoamor in Alicante.

But with Carl Fletcher’s side having returned to English soil on Saturday, Ofoborh has been kept on to join the senior set-up at La Manga Club.

Formerly of Tottenham and Millwall, Oforborh signed his first professional contract with Cherries in December.

He penned a two-and-a-half year deal having impressed in the under-18s and under-21s squads following his arrival in the summer of 2016.

The teenager’s strong displays earned him Cherries’ youth team player-of-the-season prize for 2017-18, as well as the opportunity to train and travel with the first team.

Ofoborh was part of Fletcher's under-21 squad which kicked of their pre-season fixtures with a 6-0 victory over Southern League South Weymouth earlier this month.

They are set to take on their Leicester City counterparts away from home tomorrow (2pm) before hitting the road once again to lock horns with Charlton on Saturday (1pm).

A test at Southern League South Salisbury lies ahead on Tuesday, July 24 (7.45pm) before the under-21s round off their pre-season fixtures with a trip to Arsenal under-21s on Saturday, August 4 (noon).
