CHERRIES are said to be “continuing talks” over a move for Spanish full-back Diego Rico, according to the Daily Mail.

The publication claim the Dorset club are “pressing on with a pursuit of a left-back this summer”.

Defender Rico made 109 first-team appearances for Real Zaragoza before switching to Leganes in 2016.

He played 33 times in all competitions for Los Pepineros last season, as they finished 17th in La Liga.

The Daily Mail also reports: “Manager Eddie Howe wanted Celtic's Kieran Tierney, as did Everton, but with the asking price at £25million he has focused attention on 25-year-old Rico.

“The Spaniard still has a relatively high release clause at £17.5m but Bournemouth hope it represents better value.”

Cherries have signed one new player this summer, having agreed a £10million deal to bring attacking midfielder David Brooks to Vitality Stadium from Sheffield United.

Major departures include strikers Benik Afobe, Lewis Grabban and winger Max Gradel.
