POOLE'S Oli Fairman and Thea O’Keefe came home with seven medals between them after representing Swim England South West at the Bulgarian Open National Championship.

Fairman’s Balkans bonanza included a medal of each colour – gold in the mixed 4x100m medley relay, silver in the 200m backstroke and bronze in the men’s medley relay.

He also came fourth in the men’s 100m backstroke and second in the 50m backstroke B final.

O’Keefe won bronze in the 400m and 800m freestyle and the women’s 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relays.

She was also seventh in the 200m freestyle final.

Bournemouth Collegiate School’s Christian Tai made the finals of the 100m butterfly and 200m and 400m individual medley (IM).

• Robbie Hemmings struck gold seven times as Poole reeled in 60 medals at the Team Bath Level 1 Summer Special Open Meet in Bristol.

The prep schools national champion blasted to victory in the 13yrs 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke, 50m and 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 400m IM.

Ellie McNamara contributed four times to Poole’s 30 gold medals as she won the 14yrs 50m and 100m freestyle and 50m and 100m butterfly.

Xavi Jebb added six medals to the haul – gold in the 10yrs 50m and 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke, silver in the 200m breaststroke and 200m IM and bronze in the 200m freestyle.

Max Looker and Miles Ward almost matched Jebb’s tally, Looker collecting gold in the 12yrs 100m and 400m freestyle and 50m backstroke and silver in the 50m freestyle and 200m IM, Ward winning the 14yrs 200m and 400m freestyle and 400m IM and silver in the 100m butterfly and 800m freestyle.

Siblings Molly and Jack Goddard each won two gold, four silver and one bronze.

Molly came first in the 12yrs 50m and 1500m freestyle, second in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle and 200m backstroke and bronze in the 100m freestyle.

Brother Jack’s golds came in the 10yrs 200m freestyle and 200m breaststroke, his silvers in the 100m and 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle and his bronze in the 100m breaststroke.

Alastair Ferguson was a double winner, taking the 15yrs 800m and 1500m freestyle.

Arron Hopkins, Ben Cutbush and Teagan-Mae Graham each won one gold and one bronze.

Hopkins was first and third in the 11yrs 100m and 50m freestyle respectively, Cutbush first and third in the 15yrs 200m freestyle and 200m breaststroke and Graham first and third in the 16/o 1500m and 400m freestyle.

Other Poole medallists: Charlie Meek, Katie McKenna, Tia Paginton (one silver, one bronze), Lucy Purcell (one silver), David Smith, Louis Dunning, Morgan Hiles, Ollie Cleal (one bronze).

• Seagulls shrugged off the handicap of five disqualifications to win their third round gala in the Wet Hants Novice League.

The Christchurch club recorded 17 race wins and 41 personal best times in their home pool at Two Riversmeet.
