WIMBORNE Town prospect Ed Phillips was named Dorset under-16 player of the season.
The young goalkeeper, who attends Queen Elizabeth’s School, also represents Magpies at youth level and has trained with the club’s first team.
He is coached by the Cuthbury outfit’s John Macey and Dave Walsh.
Dorset under-16s boss Richard Robson said: “Ed is an unflappable character. Win, lose or draw, he approaches everything with a positive, professional attitude.
“This is something we encourage him to keep in order to help him develop into a very good player.”
Magpies goalkeeping coach Walsh added: “Ed has had a fantastic season at Wimborne.
“Back in pre-season he showed good promise when training with our first team and that has continued throughout the season, picking up and using advice given to him by the range of coaches at Wimborne and the Dorset FA.
“He is fully committed to make himself a better player and to learn from others.”
