WIMBORNE & Colehill lead the Dorset Funeral Plan League following their 14-run win at Shroton.

The visitors chose to bat first and Colin Randall (84), George Bartlett (62) and Graham Cole (30) helped their team to 241 for nine.

Shroton were stopped just short of their target with Martin Barker the pick of the bowlers with three for 31.

Poole Town are in hot pursuit of the leaders after their seven-wicket success at Martinstown.

James Kirk and Joe Wilson took three wickets each as the hosts were dismissed for 141. Ciaran Quinn hit an unbeaten 67 as Poole eased to their target in 29 overs.

Broadstone embarrassed Dorchester with a 10-wicket thumping at Dorchester Recreation Ground.

The home side managed 161 for nine from their 50 overs, Mike Holm enjoying a profitable 10-over stint of four for 22.

Broadstone openers Luke Carter (83*) and James Park (51*) sent the ball over the boundary rope 21 times between them en route to victory.

Swanage’s difficult start to the campaign continued with a 55-run loss at Bere Regis.

The hosts made 236 for nine as Mike Hernandez recorded figures of three for 47.

And despite Simon Goldsack’s 68 and Ryan Norman’s 64, Swanage fell short of the target in the 44th over.
