NICOLAI Klindt felt slow-moving tapes and multiple restarts had hindered his efforts to qualify from the Danish semi-final at Glumsø.
The 29-year-old, who is due to return to the Pirates line-up for tomorrow’s trip to Belle Vue, missed out on progress to the final at Esbjerg.
Klindt opened with a win when pitted against Rene Bach, Rasmus Jensen and Sam Jensen but scored just one point in his remaining rides and was twice penalised for tapes violations.
He told his website: “I made the start twice where it was called back and twice I dropped the clutch when I saw the arm move but the tapes didn’t go up.
“It’s not an excuse but there were 12 to 14 restarts due to either movement or people that went into the tapes because they went up mega slow.
“I can only blame myself and can’t do anything about the results now.
“I got caught out but it’s a massive blow as I believe I could have got a top-three finish in the final at Esbjerg.”
Andreas Lyager won the meeting on 13 points, with Rasmus Jensen second (11) and Peter Kildemand third (11).
