CHERRIES under-21s have followed in the footsteps of the first-team squad by embarking on a pre-season training camp in Spain.
Carl Fletcher’s side will be on Spanish soil from July 9-14 as they build up their preparation for the new campaign.
Prior to their trip across the continent, the squad will face a pre-season friendly with Southern League Weymouth – managed by under-21s assistant Mark Molesley – at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday, July 7 (1pm).
The Terras finished fifth in their respective division last season in Molesley’s first full season at the helm.
After returning from Spain, Cherries are set take on their under-21 equivalents from Leicester, Charlton and Arsenal, all away from home with venues to be confirmed.
Fletcher’s troops also face a friendly against Southern League Salisbury at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Tuesday, July 24 (7pm).
Eight under-18s have signed professional contracts and will now join Fletcher's squad ahead of the new season.
Cherries under-21s finished third in the Central League Southern Division last season behind eventual champions Bristol Rovers and runners-up AFC Wimbledon.
