CHRIS Holder had an injury scare while riding for Polish club Torun on Friday.

The Aussie star, who Pirates boss Matt Ford hopes to bring in soon, reportedly suffered an injury to his right leg while practising a start during the home defeat to Leszno.

He was in discomfort in heats three and five and then withdrew from the fixture.

During the post-meeting press conference, Torun team manager Jacek Fratczak revealed fears the former world champion had suffered a break.

However, concerns over Holder's condition have been eased. The Polish website, torun.wyborcza.pl, reported the Sydneysider had escaped a fracture and would line up in Sunday's Ekstraliga clash with Czestochowa.

Earlier this month, Ford labelled as "more than frustrating" Holder's absence from British racing due to personal problems.

The Grand Prix ace was present for Pirates' press and practice, where it was announced he would take his place in the line-up after a handful of fixtures.

Danish charger Peter Kildemand provided cover for six meetings but has since departed, with Richie Worrall summoned on loan from Belle Vue to fill the vacant berth.
