BRADY Kurtz is to kick off his Grand Prix qualifying campaign at Danish track Slangerup.

The Pirates flier, widely regarded as one of speedway's most exciting young talents, will line up in his semi-final on Saturday, May 19.

Riding as a reserve, Kurtz won the first heat of October's Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, lowering the colours of Maciej Janowski, Chris Holder and Antonio Lindback in the process.

It was the second world championship round in which Kurtz had competed having scored two points as a wild card in the same event the previous year.

Linus Sundstrom is due to begin his qualifying bid on the same day as Kurtz, this time at Italian venue Lonigo.

Third reserve for this year's series proper, the Swede has ridden in five GPs, two as a wild card and three as a track reserve.

Sundstrom managed two points from five rides in last year's Swedish Grand Prix in Malilla.

Temporary Poole star Peter Kildemand is set to compete at Abensberg in Germany on Monday, May 21.

The 28-year-old is a two-time round winner in the GPs, triumphing in Horsens in 2015 and Krsko in 2016.

Kildemand is also due to ride in the Speedway European Championship Challenge at Italian circuit Terenzano on Saturday. Kacper Woryna is a reserve.
