STRIKER James Constable revealed he would “love to stay” at Poole Town.

The frontman joined the Dolphins on loan from National League Eastleigh in February and has been described as a “revelation” by boss Tom Killick.

While he still has another season on his contract with the Spitfires, the 33-year-old stressed his desire to play regular football.

Asked whether Poole would be an option for him, Constable replied: “Yes. They have been fantastic since I came in with how they have been with me

“I’d love to stay and, hopefully, this season we will keep Poole up.

“I knew when I came here I was going to be giving everything to the cause and it means everything to me to try to keep the club up.

“I have had a few conversations with Eastleigh. For me personally, I want to be out playing football, I don’t want to be sitting watching games.

“At 33 and 34 in October, sitting on the bench is not something I am considering.”

Constable has scored one goal in nine league outings for Dolphins since his arrival at Black Gold Stadium.

He is set to be part of the squad to host Oxford City in their crucial league clash on Saturday (3pm).
