MATTY Holmes says this season will go down as "great" for Wimborne Town – regardless of what happens in their final two games.

Magpies continue their play-off chase at home to Paulton Rovers tomorrow and a top-six spot could theoretically be secured.

Discussing his teams chances of reaching the play-offs, boss Holmes said: "We have a chance but it’s not a given. Once you are mathematically there, great, but we're not.

“We’ve won the Dorset Senior Cup and have secured a good finish in the league table. It's a great season, whatever happens.

“We have two games left which people think will be easy but they won’t be. Paulton will play with freedom.

“We got beaten 1-0 away by them so it’s important we concentrate and try to get a result.

"We have to approach it as a normal league game. If we get a point, we get a point. If we lose, we lose but it won’t be for lack of trying or a lack of organisation.

“I think the players have known for the past month what’s on these games because we haven’t been out of the top six for a long time.

“It just happens that where we finish hinges on the last two games of the season."
