GOALKEEPER Asmir Begovic felt Cherries had been handed the “ultimate test” by rampant Liverpool.

Begovic was powerless to prevent Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Robert Firmino netting as Cherries went down 3-0 at Anfield.

He told the Daily Echo: “It was a difficult task, especially at this moment in time when Liverpool are absolutely flying, full of confidence and playing so well.

“But, at the same time, I thought there were a few things we could have done a bit better.

“We were doing okay at 1-0 down. We just needed to be compact, try to break and hope maybe a chance would fall for us.

“But their second goal was a good bit of play and left us in a very difficult position.

“Their movement in behind and rotation made it the ultimate test for us.

“We know we can play against these teams but probably didn’t quite hit our levels. We needed to against them because they are playing to such a high levels and they were difficult to cope with.

“To get a positive result at a place like this, you need a lot of things to go your way but nothing did.”
