FORMER Ellingham & Ringwood youngster Poppy Cleall has been named in the Six Nations team of the tournament by a leading women’s rugby website.

The England ace was praised for her strong performances by scrumqueens.com.

Saracens star Cleall was selected at lock in the dream team alongside France’s Safi N'Diaye, although she played three different positions for the Red Roses throughout the campaign.

The website said: “It is a bit of a cheat to choose Poppy Cleall at lock when she only featured for one game there.

"But such are the talents in the back row, we've moved her up there because her performances meant she had to be in the team.”

Cleall featured in the second row as England rounded off their campaign with a 33-11 win over Ireland at Ricoh Arena.

She scored her first international try during the tournament opener against Italy last month.

A former pupil at The Burgate School and Fordingbridge Junior School, the 25-year-old made her international debut two years ago and has since been a regular fixture in the squad.

Having beaten England 18-17 in the penultimate round of fixtures, France claimed the Six Nations title and a Grand Slam after they overcame Wales 38-3 at Colwyn Bay.
