GRANT Cormack’s second-half leveller meant Christchurch went top of Sydenhams Wessex One following their 1-1 draw with Alton.

Ollie Cherrett’s men were forced to fight back at Hurn Bridge when Matt Jackson put the visitors ahead after 21 minutes.

Cormack equalised eight minutes after half-time to ensure Priory replaced title rivals Andover New Street at the summit, thanks to their superior goal difference.

Christchurch, who have only lost once in the league this season, have three games in hand on the rest of the teams in the top four.

They make the trip to Laverstock & Ford on Saturday, aiming for their 17th league success of the campaign.
