CHRIS Holder will warm up for the SGB Premiership season with an appearance at Simon Stead's farewell.

The 2012 world champion is due to race in Pirates' 70th anniversary meeting on Friday, March 23 and 48 hours later will take part in Stead's showpiece at Sheffield.

Holder joins the likes of reigning world champion Jason Doyle, Martin Vaculik and David Bellego in the field.

Stead told the Tigers website: “I’m delighted to have another world champion in my meeting and Chris has been true to his word.

“He promised me last year that if his diary allowed, he would race in my meeting. It’s wonderful news.”

After racing at Owlerton, Holder is due to feature for Poole in their Premiership opener at Wolverhampton the following night.
