WIMBORNE Town boss Matty Holmes labelled as "awesome" Taunton Town ahead of the teams' showdown in Southern League West.

Magpies tomorrow travel to Somerset to take on a side who have only lost once in the league this season (7.45pm).

Taunton have a five-point cushion at the top of the table, with two games in hand on nearest rivals Salisbury.

Holmes told the Daily Echo: “It’s a no-pressure game. We are going to the league leaders, who are there on merit.

“They are an awesome unit – they all know their jobs and play to their strengths.

“At times they play really good football and we are excited about going there and pitting our wits against them.

“Taunton are very experienced. They know how to manage and win games ugly, like Salisbury do.

“That’s why those teams are at the top and they will be used to games where they have to dig in. We are learning that at the moment.”

Wimborne are set to welcome back Paddy Hester after he rejoined the Cuthbury club earlier this month. Skipper Scott Arnold is set to return from suspension.

Luke Holmes remains banned and Toby Holmes and Matt Oldring are unavailable.
