JUNIOR Stanislas returned from injury to help Cherries earn a point and then set his sights on a club-record finish in the Premier League.
Back following a month on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem, substitute Stanislas’s measured through ball set up Ryan Fraser for a fine opener at West Ham.
And although Chicharito immediately responded, a 1-1 draw allowed Cherries to rise to 12th in the Premier League.
The Dorset side recorded their best top-flight finish last season, when they ended ninth, and winger Stanislas hopes to improve on that this campaign.
Asked if Cherries could better last season, Stanislas told the Daily Echo: “I think so, we aim to. We’re maybe a win off the top half but only a few points away from the bottom three.
“It’s tight but we go into every game trying to win.
“We took the lead against West Ham and maybe if we could have held that for five or 10 minutes, we could have seen the game out.
“We ended up conceding but we didn’t lose and, hopefully, we can take positives into the next match against Chelsea.”
