WEST Mullen chairman Matt Hector praised Mark ‘Loz’ Lorains for his persistence after the defender had ended a NINE-year goal drought in Sunday football.

Lorains, a plumber by trade, bagged a penalty in Mullen’s 13-3 win over Hayward League Division Four rivals Morden, his 148th game for the club.

“He never gives up and always shows a great work ethic in training,” said Hector.

“He took his chance from the spot and, hopefully, it will open the floodgates for him!”

His spot-kick was added to by Brad Gale’s seven-goal blast and efforts from Joe Warden, Chris Baldry, Jack Dunne, Mitch Hack and Chris Ashford.
