JOSH Grajczonek has stripped back his schedule so he can give everything to the Pirates cause.

The six-time Queensland state champion played a key role in Sheffield's SGB Championship triumph this year but will not ride in Britain's second tier in 2018.

Instead the 27-year-old will focus on racing for Pirates and Polish club Lodz, with a deal elsewhere in mainland Europe a possibility.

Having moved back to parent club Poole from Somerset earlier this month, Grajczonek believes not overloading his calendar will help him produce his best.

He told the Daily Echo: "I'm only doing one league in England next season. I did a lot of meetings last season and was pretty burned out by the end.

"Freeing up my weeks with fixed race nights helps a lot. I've got Poland as well so, hopefully, I will have enough racing to keep me going but won't come into meetings burned out."

Unlike new team-mate Brady Kurtz and Pirates asset Jack Holder, Grajczonek will not take part in January's Australian Senior Solo Championship.

"I'm pretty keen to have a rest," he added.

"I've just brought one engine home to do a bit of practice with and the only meeting I'm planning on doing is Darcy Ward's meeting.

"I'm going to concentrate on getting myself fit and will be in the gym five days a week."
