MATCH-winner Asmir Begovic claimed both spot-kicks awarded against Cherries in the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace had been "incredibly harsh".

Bosnian stopper Begovic was penalised for bringing down Wilfried Zaha in the first period, with Luka Milivojevic emphatically converting.

Palace had the chance to win the game in second-half stoppage time after Charlie Daniels was judged to have felled Zaha but Begovic saved Christian Benteke's weak effort.

Begovic said: "I thought both penalties were incredibly harsh.

"The first one was a bit more bang-bang but I felt the ball came through and hit me on the arm and Wilfried ran into me.

"The second one was a clear tackle. It was one of those unfortunate things but, thankfully, it didn't cost us in the end."

Jermain Defoe's stunning half-volley was another major talking point from the clash at Selhurst Park.

Begovic added: "That's JD for you. He's the best finisher I've played alongside.

"He can do any kind of finish so when he does something like that, I'm not really surprised. Full credit to him.

"There's no other person you would want the ball to drop to in the box."
