CHERRIES goalkeeper Asmir Begovic reckons Roy Hodgson has made a positive impact at Crystal Palace.

Former England boss Hodgson has guided his team away from the base of the Premier League table since taking over in mid-September.

Eighteenth-place Palace are five points behind Cherries and speaking ahead of the teams' clash at Selhurst Park tomorrow (3pm), Begovic told the Daily Echo: "He's a good manager with a great track record.

"You can see he has had an impact on the team and that is why results have improved.

"You expect him to do well at Palace but it's going to take a bit of time. You don't expect it to change overnight.

"We know we are in for a tough game but we'll be ready."

Begovic added: "A point on the board against Southampton means we're moving in the right direction.

"When you look at the bottom 12 or 13 sides, they are in their own league and you have to keep grinding away.

"In the past month or so, we have had some positive results. I thought we were playing okay for a longer period than that but perhaps didn't get the points we deserved.

"A couple of results can make a big difference so it's important we keep moving in the right direction."
