BOURNEMOUTH boss Will Croker hopes his team can profit from Newton Abbot's recent "wobble" and displace their rivals in second in South West Premier.

The teams lock horns at Rackerhayes on Saturday with third-placed Lions aiming to build on the home win against Brixham last time out.

Newton Abbot are sure to present a stern test, however, with former Exeter Chiefs centre Matt Jess among a string of talented players in their ranks.

Reflecting on an intriguing encounter, Croker told the Daily Echo: "It's a long trek and they are a very good team

"That said, we were delighted with how we bounced back against Brixham and Newton Abbot have had a little wobble – they have lost their past two games.

"While I'm not saying the wheels have fallen off, they will be conscious of the fact that if we can apply some pressure, there may be some gremlins there. So that's got to be our philosophy.

"We've been pretty good on the road this season. We were rubbish against Maidenhead but we won at Ivybridge and Exmouth. Whenever we've been to Devon we've come away with the spoils.

"We have to meet the physical confrontation first and worry about what they are doing outside of that later."
