STRIKER Callum Wilson admitted he was “playing catch-up” to hit his secretive goal target this season in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old frontman netted a hat-trick against Huddersfield Town last time out to get off the mark for the campaign in the top flight.

Wilson bagged the treble having completed his first 90 minutes in the league since January, after recovering from a serious knee injury.

He is expected to get an opportunity to increase his goal count when Cherries tomorrow visit Swansea City (3pm).

The former Coventry ace remained tight-lipped on his hopes when asked about individual aims but claimed he had full belief he could reach the personal milestone.

Quizzed on what his target was, Wilson replied: “I will never tell you until I reach it!

“As a player, I have targets I set myself and they don’t change.

“I missed the first nine games but I set myself a target of goals and I am playing catch-up really.

“But that doesn’t matter to me. I always believe in my ability, and that I can get the goals and target I set myself.

“I got three goals on Saturday and I am on my way to doing that.”

Wilson has netted 14 goals in the Premier League from 36 appearances.
