BOURNEMOUTH boss Will Croker is targeting a spot in a cup final in the year of the club’s 125th anniversary.
Lions are set to begin their campaign in the Hampshire Cup on Saturday and face a last-eight clash at London One South outfit Tottonians.
And while he may rest some key names from his regular South West Premier squad, Croker is keen to enjoy a strong run in the competition.
He told the Daily Echo: “We have not played in the Hampshire Cup before but they very kindly said they would love to have us.
“We are going to field a strong side for it because we want to continue to build momentum. We feel we are playing well.
“It will be a decent contest and it’s an opportunity for us to keep building momentum.
“It’s an opportunity for us to get to a cup final in our 125th year, which would be lovely.”
Croker added: “This gives us the opportunity to make some changes in the starting XV, take a few guys on the bench we haven’t seen and give them a taste of what first-team rugby is all about.
“There are a couple of bodies who genuinely need a rest. Richard Sharpe and Joe Rees may well have a rest. We may even rest Sam Hardcastle.”
